the Month of January 2006

ON MOST FREQUENTLY REPORTED
ISSUES AREAS
Children’s
Diet & Health (5%)
Coverage in this area increased significantly compared to
last year’s survey, with articles focusing on consumption of soft drinks, dairy
products and childhood obesity. Please refer to
“Kids
Corner” for more information on Children’s diets.
Fats,
Heart Disease & Cholesterol (8%)
Coverage in this area has doubled in each of the past 2
years, reflecting increasing consumer interest in issues relating to regulating cholesterol
levels and maintaining a healthy heart. For more information on prevention of

Cardiovascular Disease and Enjoying Life”.
Functional
Foods (26%)
Functional foods coverage has decreased considerably from
last year’s high of 34%, but is still the by far the most popular topic in
the magazines surveyed. Common subjects of interest include natural remedies for a
range of ailments, including some in-depth look at reasoning behind these long

Healthy
Eating & Lifestyles (13%)
2006 saw slight increase in coverage in this area, with
articles mainly focusing on importance of a healthy breakfast, and maintaining a
balanced diet. Please follow the link for more information about

Infant
Feeding & Breastfeeding (12%)
There was a significant increase in articles covered in
this area, more than double last years coverage of 5%. Popular topics include
the introduction of solid foods to children, discussions about children’s diet

Overweight,
Obesity & Weight Control (9%)
2006 marks the 3rd year running that obesity
and weight control coverage has decreased significantly in Thai magazines
surveyed. For 2006, the most popular theme covered in articles was on the topic
of weight control. Find our more about weight control in
