Consumer Attitudes to Nutrition Information on Food Labels and Packaging - Global Overview

Do consumers know how much they should be eating? Do they know the energy content of the foods they eat? Do consumers read the nutrition information on label, do they understand what it means, and do they use it when choosing foods? These questions were debated at the First World Congress of Public Health Nutrition, moderated by Dr. E. Tee Siong, President of the Nutrition Society of Malaysia and Dr. Jonathan Back, Strategy and Analysis Unit, DG SANCO, European Commission, Brussels. It is available here as a podcast.
