儿童因为烟草(吸烟或二手烟),超重,肥胖,及缺乏运动,而逐渐增加罹患心脏病的危险性。 因为如此,在今年926日星期日举行的世界心脏日将会把重心集中在"儿童,青少年和心脏病" 目标是帮助全世界的人了解心脏病和中风的威胁,以及健康生活方式的重要,使人们可以活的更好,更长。

世界心脏基金会 (WHF) 估计全球在五岁以下的二千二百万孩子有肥胖的现象,还有更多是超重的。 这意谓他们的健康有极大的问题。世界心脏基金会也推计全球有三分之二的儿童活动量不足。 因此,世界心脏基金会下的近100个会员国家在世界心脏日推出了一个口号心生活,新生活

世界心脏基金会相信抑止肥胖情形扩大最有效的方法是开始现在教育孩子。首先必须把重心

集中在教导孩子一辈子的健康饮食习惯。
